LEWIS TURKINGTON REVEALS BMW MACHINERY AHEAD OF DONINGTON DEBUT
15th October 2026
-
Lewis Turkington has unveiled his GSF Car Parts BMW 324ti E46, which he will campaign over the next two weekends as he begins an exciting new chapter in his racing career.
-
Prepared by Neil McDonald and the team at Automac, the BMW features prominent GSF Car Parts branding, complete with the familiar “Do Yourself Proud” identity seen on Lewis’s Junior Fiesta race car.
-
The move into BMW machinery marks an important step in Lewis’s development as a racing driver, with the next two weekends providing a valuable opportunity to gain experience, learn the characteristics of a new car and build his confidence in rear-wheel-drive machinery.
FIRST TASTE OF RWD
Lewis will get his first taste of the BMW tomorrow, Friday 16 October, during a pre-event test at Donington Park. The session will be the starting point of the learning process, allowing him to familiarise himself with the car, and begin to understand the differences between the BMW and the front-wheel-drive Fiesta he has previously raced. With rear-wheel drive presenting a new set of challenges, the focus throughout the upcoming programme will be firmly on development, gaining mileage and building experience.
BMW AND TURKINGTON HISTORY
The Turkington name is synonymous with BMW, making this latest move particularly significant. With a strong history of success connecting the family name to the German marque, Lewis’s move into BMW machinery is an exciting prospect as the next generation of Turkington talent continues its journey in motorsport.
