TURKINGTON TURNS HEADS IN SEASON OPENER
RAPID PROGRESS AND STANDOUT LAP TIMES MARK HIM AS ONE TO WATCH IN 2026
Snetterton, UK – 18–19 April 2026
- Lewis Turkington delivered an impressive start to his 2026 BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship campaign at Snetterton Circuit, demonstrating clear progression, pace, and growing confidence across a highly competitive race weekend.
- Racing in dry, sunny conditions, the season opener featured a record grid of 31 fiercely talented young drivers, making it one of the most competitive fields in the championship’s history.
- Lewis qualified 12th, placing himself firmly in the midfield battle, and went on to secure his three strongest race finishes to date over the course of the weekend. Having competed in just three events last year, the difference in performance was clear — this was a more confident, composed, and determined driver.
- His development did not go unnoticed, with his progression becoming a talking point throughout the paddock.
- One of the standout moments came in the final race, where Lewis fought his way forward from 21st to 16th, showcasing strong racecraft and resilience. During that race, he also recorded one of the fastest lap times of the entire weekend, underlining his growing pace and potential.
- Still considered a relatively late starter compared to many of his competitors, Lewis is now demonstrating immense promise as he continues to close the gap to the front of the field.
