LEWIS TAKES POSITIVE STEPS AT SILVESTONE

SILVERSTONE ROUNDS 12, 13, 14

  • Lewis Turkington enjoyed his first ever race weekend at home circuit Silverstone in his BRSCC 20 Ten Racing Fiesta Junior over the weekend.

  • Qualifying just one second off pole position but placing 21st displayed the quality and competitiveness of the field of youngsters, each driving the wheels of their little Ford Fiestas around the Northamptonshire track.

  • Lewis picked up a big hit on lap 11 in race 1 but brought home three finishes with strong and consistent race pace throughout with his best result being 19th from 29 cars.

  • Keen to take the next step forward in his development, Lewis is intensely focusing on his areas of improvement before the next event at Donington Park in just over two weeks time on September 13th and 14th.

LEWIS TURKINGTON

“I was really looking forward to Silverstone and was very proud of my performance in qualifying.  I have been working so hard on trying to take steps forward and i felt that my lap times showed the effort I’ve been putting in.

Overall, the three races were really positive and again, I’ve learnt so much.  At this stage it’s important to keep clocking up the laps, finishing races and collecting all the experience.  My laps were consistent and I caught back up to the packs ahead that I fell back from on lap 1.

It’s been a huge journey and I am more motivated than ever to take the next big step.  Nothing will stand in my way as I continue to push forwards in my progress.”
