POSITIVE RECOVERY UPDATE: LEWIS TURKINGTON BEGINS FITNESS PROGRAMME AHEAD OF POTENTIAL BRANDS HATCH RETURN

Promising young racing driver Lewis Turkington has received positive news from his medical team following the removal of his plaster cast this week. After a review at Milton Keynes University Hospital, the consultant confirmed excellent progress in the healing of Lewis’s fractured left distal radius.

With his recovery ahead of schedule, Driving Dyslexia Forward ambassador Lewis will now begin a structured rehabilitation and strength-building programme designed to assess and restore full functionality in preparation for a potential return to racing.

Over the coming days, Lewis will focus on rebuilding strength and mobility in his left arm through targeted exercises and physiotherapy. He is scheduled to return to his Fiesta Junior race car next week for a final assessment, which will determine whether he is fit to compete in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship finale at Brands Hatch on October 25–26.

“I’m pleased to release a positive update on the status of my arm,” said Lewis. “The consultant is pleased with my recovery, and I’m feeling stronger every day. My goal is to be ready for Brands Hatch at the end of the month — I’m extremely motivated and determined to get back in the car but we will re-assess at the end of next week.

Lewis and his family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to his sponsors for their patience, understanding, and continued support throughout his recovery period. Their encouragement and commitment have played a vital role in allowing Lewis the time and space needed to heal properly and return to racing stronger than ever.

All signs are currently positive, and both Lewis and his team remain optimistic that he will be fit to return to competition later this month.
