LEWIS TURKINGTON SET TO DEBUT IN FIESTA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

TOOL MANIAC AND GREEN GROUP TAKE TEEANGE TURKINGTON TO THE STARTING GRID!

  • Northern Irish Teenager Lewis Turkington has today (Tuesday 1st April) announced he will take part in the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship this season supported by Tool Maniac and The Green Group.
  • This will mark Lewis’s circuit racing debut; after competing for the past two seasons in UK Autograss.  The young ‘Driving Dyslexia Forward’ ambassador is keen to highlight this alternative route into circuit racing.
  • Lewis has patiently waited his turn to get behind the wheel, supporting his father’s motorsport career for over a decade, but believes this in-depth experience will accelerate his learning.
  • Set to race in his Tool Maniac Mk7 Fiesta Junior race car, Turkington will be joining the Derby based 20 Ten Racing outfit run by Simon Hunt, a team he has spent time with testing during 2024.
  • Revealing his striking green and white, #72 challenger via Youtube, Lewis took to his platforms to express his excitement about participating in the Fiesta Junior Championship for 5 of the 7 events this season.

LEWIS TURKINGTON – FIESTA JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP DRIVER

“I’m so happy about sharing this news and cannot wait for the Snetterton weekend.  The car looks amazing, and I am so grateful to Pete Osborne at Tool Maniac for this opportunity to compete.  Joining the grid of Fiesta Juniors has been my dream for the past few years and to finally make it happen is something I’m really proud of.  I aim to keep inspiring other young people with dyslexia to keep chasing their dreams and work hard to make it happen.

I haven’t followed the traditional route into circuit racing, so I have some catching up to do on my competitors, but step by step I’ll get there!

Because I also want to achieve well in my GCSE’s this summer, I’m sitting out the two events (Mallory and Anglesey) that clash with my exams but returning to the grid after that.

Once again, a massive thank you to Tool Maniac, The Green Group, Turkington Windows and Conservatories and everyone else who’ve made this happen for me!”

PETER OSBOURNE – TOOL MANIAC AND THE GREEN GROUP

“I am proud to be able to help Lewis and am looking forward to seeing him out on track. He is a young aspiring racing driver who is incredibly talented, and I’m sure he is on track to have a fantastic career within the sport. Lewis has big shoes to fill in order emulate his father Colin who has had an unbelievable career in motor racing.

The great thing about this opportunity is not only hopefully seeing Lewis following in his father’s footsteps but also his role as ambassador for Driving Dyslexia Forward as this is something that resonates with me and my family.  Dyslexia is something I have lived with all my life and the fact it is now being spoken about and with Lewis raising awareness hopefully means that young people will be supported, as opposed to when I was growing up when it was very much an unknown and you were labelled negatively.

The car looks awesome and will look even better out on track!”

SEASON OPENER

Lewis will take to Snetterton circuit this weekend (5th and 6th April) for the season opener of the 2025 BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship.  Qualifying and race 1 will take place on Saturday followed by two further races on Sunday 6th April.
