LEWIS TURKINGTON SCORES CAREER-BEST QUALFYING ON RETURN TO RACING AT BRANDS HATCH
27th October 2025
Young racing talent Lewis Turkington celebrated a milestone moment at the BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship season finale, securing the best qualifying result of his career with 16th place out of a jam-packed grid of super talented youngsters.
The achievement marks an impressive return to the cockpit following a stop-start season and a recent broken radius.
This weekend’s event was Lewis’s first time back in the car since sustaining his arm injury during the Junior National Championships earlier this summer. Remarkably, he not only competed in that event with a fractured radius but also won his semi-final and delivered a remarkable 4th-place finish out of over 100 juniors.
The 2025 season has been a year of competing priorities for the young driver. Lewis temporarily paused all motorsport activities in the spring to fully focus on preparing for and completing his GCSE examinations. Just as he began to rebuild momentum, injury forced him to step away again—making his strong return at Brands Hatch all the more meaningful.
“I’m really happy to have made progress this weekend,” Lewis said. “It’s been a tough year with a lot of interruptions, just when we start to build any sort of momentum there’s a stoppage, but this result shows we’re moving in the right direction. I’ve learned a lot, I’m clearer than ever on the areas I need to improve, and I’m more determined than ever to work hard and come back stronger.”
Lewis has already outlined a comprehensive winter development plan, focused on strengthening key areas of his race craft and building a solid foundation for the 2026 season. His goal is to return to the Fiesta Junior grid next year with a significant step forward in performance and consistency.
He added, “I’m extremely grateful for all the support I’ve received this year—from my family, everyone who has backed me and the whole 20 Ten Racing Team. I can’t wait to put in the work and show what we’re capable of next season. The plan is to complete the full championship and hopefully I can stay injury free!”
