Helmet Paint Scheme Carries Family Legacy Forward
- Lewis Turkington has revealed a fresh paint finish for his karting helmet, blending personal identity with a meaningful family influence.
- The Arai CK-6 karting helmet has been custom painted to match his tarmac racing lid, the Arai GP-6, creating a consistent visual identity across both disciplines. However, the design represents far more than just aesthetic alignment.
- At its core, the helmet is an evolution of his father’s signature look. Retaining the clean, understated style that allows space for partner branding, Lewis has introduced his own modern identity through his signature turquoise blue and orange colour scheme.
- Subtle design details further reinforce the connection between past and present. The top of the helmet features a “T” motif inspired by his father’s design, while the “LT” insignia on the sides represents Lewis Turkington’s personal logo — a generational progression from his father’s “C”.
- The project was brought to life by Brian Alexander of Hydro Concepts in Northern Ireland, who originally created the design on Lewis’s car racing helmet and has now seamlessly replicated it for karting.
- The result is a helmet that not only looks the part on track, but also tells a story of heritage, identity, and progression — a legacy carried forward into the next chapter of competition.
- Keeping the story going. 🏁
