BRITISH AUTOGRASS SERIES BEGINS!
LEWIS PICKS UP A WIN AT SCUNTHORPE
- Lewis Turkington took home a fantastic win from the first round of the BAS at Scunthorpe over the weekend and placing 10th overall after the two days racing.
- His win was one of his best races to date, in terribly wet conditions the teenager stormed to the front of the pack and lead from turn 1 to the flag.
- The BAS championships features the most competitive Juniors from all over the country, and this was Lewis’s first time at a BAS event.
- Lewis was pleased with his win but is determined to come back better at the next round with a little more experience now under his belt.
LEWIS TURKINGTON
“It was a great but also unlucky first round of the British Autograss Series. This was a big step up for me and my brother. I picked up a 1st, 4th and 5th (a crash at turn 1 and no re-run spoiled my chances in that race) which finished me in 10th overall – just missing out on the final. But well done to my brother who picked up a 1st, 2nd and 6th, qualifying him for the final. It was still a great weekend!”
