4TH PLACE AT JUNIOR NATIONALS
TEEN RACER LEWIS TURKINGTON DEFIES THE ODDS TO TAKE 4TH PLACE AT JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – RACING WITH A BROKEN ARM
Evesham, UK – September 1, 2025 – Sixteen-year-old rising star Lewis Turkington delivered an astonishing performance at the Junior National Championships held at Evesham Autograss Club on August 31 and September 1, finishing 4th overall out of 107 of the UK’s top junior competitors—despite racing with a broken arm.
Turkington showed blistering pace throughout the weekend, winning three of his four qualifying races and finishing second in the other. His consistency secured him a strong position going into the finals, where he continued to impress with a dominant win in his quarter-final and another victory in the semi-final.
However, the story took a dramatic turn during the first attempt of his semi-final, when Lewis was struck by another competitor, resulting in a broken arm. Showing incredible determination and composure, Lewis chose to continue racing, going on to win the re-run of the semi-final despite his injury.
With his left arm immobilised, Lewis then lined up for the prestigious Junior National Final. In a display of sheer grit and courage, he fought through the pain and held his own against the country’s best, crossing the line in 4th place overall—a remarkable result that has earned widespread admiration across the sport.
“Lewis showed true heart and dedication this weekend,” said a NASA spokesperson. “To not only continue racing with a broken arm but to finish fourth in a National final is extraordinary. He’s proven he’s got the talent, determination, and toughness of a future champion.”
The weekend’s performance has cemented Lewis Turkington’s reputation as one of the most promising young drivers in British Autograss racing, and his resilience has inspired both competitors and fans alike.
